Fantasy Blogger League Draft Results
Thanks to all who participated in the draft! Here’s what I think about how it all went down. First, my team:
1. (10) Brian Westbrook
2. (15) Brandon Jacobs
3. (34) Anquan Boldin
4. (39) Adrian Peterson
5. (58) Kellen Winslow
6. (63) Baltimore
7. (82) Tony Romo
8. (87) Devery Henderson
9. (106) Brandon Marshall
10. (111) Jacoby Jones
11. (130) Brian Leonard
12. (135) Mike Furrey
13. (154) David Garrard
14. (159) Wes Welker
15. (178) Jason Hanson
16. (183) Chris Henry
17. (202) Ted Ginn Jr.
I love how my team turned out, except for the question marks at WR and the lack of steals. Will Henderson keep the #2 job for the Saints? How much will Marshall improve in his second season? How many receptions will Furrey lose to Calvin Johnson? I was hoping Donald Driver would fall to the fifth round, but he wasn’t even close, taken as #45 overall. I got greedy with seeing how late I could grab Betts, and he was taken a pick before I would have snatched him up.
Westbrook falling to #10 made my day, Romo should be a good seventh-rounder, and I also grabbed advantages over most owners in the TE and DEF categories. You may think the sixth round was too early for Baltimore, but I will gain way more points with them than I lost by not getting a Santana Moss or Galloway over a Henderson or Marshall.
I enjoyed my stretch of rounds 11-14. Leonard, Furrey, and Welker were all steals that late. Garrard, with those rushing yards, is going to make a great backup. If a couple of my WRs step it up, I see a deep playoff run in this team’s future. If not, I may try to trade Peterson for some help.
Check in tomorrow for my analysis on my competition’s hits and misses.
