AOL Acquires FleaFlicker Fantasy Football Site

Fantasy Football Blog I just saw this and it’s pretty big news. I had a notion some of the bigger entities would be looking to buy up some of the underground/smaller sites. AOL isn’t a true big dog yet as compared to Yahoo (the chief) and lesser mainstreams like ESPN, CBS Sports, and Fox Sports, but evidently America Online is making a run at it. As previously mentioned, free sites are the most successful in today’s climate and it’s no surprise FleaFlicker was indeed free.

Congratulations to FleaFlicker and kudos to a great site and brand throughout the years.

In other fantasy football business news fantasyfootballblog.net is up for sale. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if AOL or another mainstream site strikes again. FantasyFootballBlog.net has long been #1 on Google search for “fantasy football blog” and as you can imagine is well known. They are asking $2,000 for the rights to everything as per their website.

Stay tuned as I plan to announce some of my own fantasy football developments later this summer.

ESPN: Marvin Harrison Allegedly Involved In Shooting

This is not substantiated, but Harrison has told police - according to Anthony Gargano, WIP AM Radio Host in Philadelphia, Marvin Harrison’s hometown - that he was in a fight and heard gunfire at Marvin Harrison’s bar in Philadelphia, but did not shoot the man he was in a fight with.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Stay tuned for more information.
